Cohosh Root Tincture
Midwives have used black and blue cohosh to induce labor for centuries. This tincture can be used to initiate labor, re-start a stalled labor, soften the cervix, and to expel the placenta. It an also be used to aid in the event of miscarriage. Both black and blue cohosh have stimulating AND relaxing properties which facilitate childbirth. It produces contractions which are regular and effective, interspersed with a good relaxation period.
Cohosh Tincture can also be used for painful periods, sore and inflammatory conditions of the reproductive tract, infections and lack of functional power in the uterus leading to infertility.
-All herbal extracts are macerated for at least one moon cycle for potency.
Benefits of tinctures: Tinctures can be taken quickly. Just a half teaspoon gives you a ton of the concentrated benefits of whatever herb you’re using. Alcoholic extractions have a long shelf life and a dosage contains very little alcohol for those concerned. You may add tincture dosage to warm water or tea or take direcyly under the tongue.
Note: Not for use in early pregancy. It is very important that you discuss these herbs with your doctor or midwife before using them.

Of course make sure you consult a professional herbalist or natural practioner if you are pregnant for proper use! Red raspberry has also been used for upset stomach and cold and flu.

Salve Quartet- BACK IN STOCK 10/15/23
This is a set of our 4 Staple Salves. Step up your topical remedy game and be covered on all ends! You will receive 1 of each:
Loose Leaf Elder Flowers (2 oz)
Elderflowers are rich in vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and C. Elderflower boosts the functioning of the immune system and is therefore very helpful with respiratory ailments during the cold season (cough, cold), as well as with asthma. Elderflowers are expectorant and diaphoretic (they increase perspiration) thus they help to manage and reduce fevers and to rid the body of toxins. Elderflowers are also anti-viral and are useful in combating herpes simplex type 1 virus (responsible for cold sores).
A lovely healing tea can be made and my favorite for younger ones is an elderflower sponge bath to help with colds and fever.
Shepherd’s Purse & Yarrow Tincture
Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) known to be a hemostatic (stops bleeding) and an antiseptic for both external and internal wounds and bleeding (including excessive menstrual flow).
Shepherd’s Purse (Capsella bursa-pastoris) is a very powerful styptic and one that I use regularly for women who suffer from flooding during their periods. As a postpartum herb, it can be useful for postpartum hemorrhage.
